The courtroom became silent as the judge stepped up to his desk. All you could hear was a few whispers. As I was sitting there nervously waiting for the sentence. For a few seconds I was wondering what I actually had done wrong. Why was this so bad, was there anything i would have done differently? My thoughts rushed a million miles a seconds but were interrupted by the judge as he took a deep breath to deliver his verdict. He hadn't been deliberating very long time, so maybe in his opinion the sentence was probably fair and just. What would he say?
"You, Sir have been found guilty and its time to accept the responsibility for your actions."
The courtroom grew early of anticipation.
"I hereby sentence you to fifteen years in jail where you will endure 15 years of hard labor, you will serve your time to the full extent. The sentence is to be served in an open minimum security facility, where you will have night time parole from 22:30 to the next morning by 08:00, where you need to report back to the prison facility. " That's all I could hear ...the rest is just blurry and a mumble... I was in chock. All the cheerful memories i had and had given me strength was blown away in a second. The life as i knew it was gone in a second.
What had I been thinking you ask me, and my answer to you would be ...I am not sure what i was thinking. Today I am getting released. This is my story!
